Okay, I couldn't resist.  I took a picture of the pile of money we made at our last yard sale.  Don't get excited... it's mostly one's.

Big Dog Dad

Speaking of the football game (see yesterday's post), this gentleman sat in front of me, and I couldn't resist taking a picture of his shirt.

Perfect Finish

Since yesterday marked the opening games of NFL Football  (I don't count pre-season games) I thought it might be a nice tribute to Dallas to post this picture I took from Texas Stadium last year on the date of the last Cowboys game played in that stadium.  It was against the Redskins.... Unfortunately, they didn't live up to the billboard's toast.

Active Volcano

This photo was actually taken by my father while he was in the Navy.  I noticed it as I was sorting through my pictures and found it amusing, so I decided to share it here.  I don't know where he was when he took it (other than somewhere in Southern California, obviously!).

Sunning

As we head into fall, I thought I'd post one last reminder of summer.  This photo of an anonymous woman and her dog catching some rays was made on the beach in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Poor Old LeRoy

You may have to click on it to get the image large enough to see, but welded to this gate are the words "Poor Old LeRoy".  I guess that tells us who owns this ranch!  Of course, I had a have a picture.  LOL!  This was taken in New Mexico near Dog Canyon and the Texas/New Mexico border.

Shopping Anyone?

I found it amusing that this small building was named a "mall". I always think of malls as huge buildings with lots of chain stores and two or three (at least) department stores. But hey, why not have big dreams, right? :o)

Golden Sunset

We found this bush growing beside a track through the Sacramento Mountains on our way to Timberon.  It was so delicately beautiful, it reminded me of feathers.

This soon-to-be mama and her companion were not too happy about us disturbing their grazing.  The photo was taken in the Guadalupe Mountains on our way to Dog Canyon.

Free Range - Part 1

This Hereford strolled out in front of our truck as we were driving through the Sacramento Mountains one day and stopped to get a look at us.  I never did get used to sharing the road with cattle that weren't in a truck. :)

Cactus Fruit

Took this photo while driving through the Guadalupe Mountains on our way to Dog Canyon, and then on to Queen, New Mexico.  It was a beautiful spring day in the mountains, one of those days that make you especially glad to be alive.

Pink Carnation

An image of a pink carnation destined to be delivered to a teacher during Teacher Appreciation Week.  The Parent Teacher Organization in Dell City did something different each day to show appreciation to the teachers for their hard work all year.

Shadowplay

I can't help it - I love beautiful landscapes.  This was taken on a drive through the Chihuahuan Desert in Southeast New Mexico one spring day.  We were on a dirt track in the middle of nowhere, south of Lincoln National Forest and west of the Guadalupe Mountains (look at a map - there is NOTHING in that area!) and a freak spring rainshower was brewing.  The sun was playing hide and seek in the clouds, and I thought it made some interesting patterns on the foothills in the disance.
